Video of the Week: Cavel Miracle Horses
By DAWN MANCINA
My daughter and I put the story of the Cavel Miracle Horses, Snickers and Willie into a video. I hope you enjoy it. It’s kinda long, but gee - its a long story to tell! You will also see some pics of more of the Miracle Horses that you may not have ‘met’ yet. I tried to find as many as I could out of the group. They are ALL special and ALL lucky to be alive - not just my Snickers and Willie - and I wanted to pay tribute to all of these special souls.
I cried, of course, as we put this together, even after all these months.
I want to thank Mr. John Holland for originally penning this remarkable story, which many of you have hopefully had the opportunity to read. It was a wonderful piece of work! I used many of his original ideas in the video but also had to edit and change the wording around alot to fit it into a reasonable time-frame. The sequence of events, though, could not change.
Again, it is rather long - but such a moving story.
Please use this in your anti-slaughter work. Pass this on to your own lists, legislators, anyone and everyone who might take heed to the suffering of our horses.
We WILL get ‘er done in 2008!

How wonderous!!!!!!!! We must stop Wyeth Pharm.! They put so many horses at risk, along with the women of this country! They call the foals waste products, the mares waste product after they use and abuse them. If we stop them, just think how many lives won’t be produced for greed and profit. Just think how many won’t have to be rescued and the focus can be centered on other horses in need!
What a beautiful ending! I love hearing what happend to them!!!!
Namaste!
Between the two songs and the heart-wrenching photos, my keyboard looked like I left it in the rain-tear drops everwhere!!!
It’s not just Wyeth that contributes to this hideous state of affairs–its all the greedy breeders who breed for color, or a partiiular “look” and then when the babies don’t measure up, they are doomed to a life of mediocrity at best, and slaughter at worst.
There are so many horses for sale–just check all the internet sites, breed organizations, newspapers, magazines, etc. Don’t bring a horse into your life unless you can really afford to care for him properly. They are not snow mobiles or bicyles that can easily be put aside or discarded. They are living, breathing, feeling creatures who suffer just like we suffer.
God bless you, Dawn. You have a tremendous heart for animals!
Thanks John Holland–you rock, man!
