Dead horses On Sonoma Ranch puzzle investigators (US)

The Solano County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of two horses found dead at the Peterson Ranch on Lewis Road in rural Solano County on Saturday morning.
The horses were taken to the University of California, Davis Veterinarian Hospital where necropsies were conducted, spokeswoman Paula Toynbee said. Detectives are reviewing the report and consulting with the UC Davis medical staff, Toynbee said.
It was initially considered the horses might have been shot but that has not been confirmed, Toynbee said.
