Mercy, wild horses to be killed for eating too much (US)

Get off the grass, you damned wild horses, or I will take you hostage, then kill you, with mercy. But first, I am gonna let them make your women infertile. ~ Uncle Sam

Damn those wild horses. They are eating too much and destroying America.

So says the BLM, who recommend “mercy killings” for these beastly wilderness devouring animals who they keep rounding up and locking up, but really because some horse hating goons in Washington DC told them to, then get rid of them. These untamed equine savages are costing so much, they say, that Uncle Sam himself is mad as hell.

It’s the cattle, stupid.

Cattle are nice but pretty dull creatures. They will stand around in the same spot and eat and eat and eat, until they reach dirt. Then they will eat the dirt. You have to move them to another spot where there is fresh vegetation, or they will keep eating the dirt. You know, get along little doggy?

Wild horses, however, are always on the move, they graze for awhile, then move on. They prefer to have a watering hole of some sort nearby. Even domesticated horses do it when turned out into the wide open plains. Nature tells them what to do, and they do it. Wild horses and burros have survived for decades this way. There has never been too many of them, even when there were millions, and they have never come close to running out of room on the gzillion acres of public lands (that would be ours) set aside just for them by . . . . Uncle Sam.

There’s not enough wild horses left to sustain most herds, and there are reportedly more hanging out in BLM “holding pens” than there are left in the wild. The BLM’s adoption program has been a dismal flop, long before the stresses of the current economic climate. Yeah, okay, though, but let’s go out and get some more of those devouring wild horses, Brownie, ’cause we can just kill them later, with mercy.

At a recent roundup “Sand Wash Basin Horse Management Area near the town of Maybell, Colorado” Humane Society type officials made all the girl horses take birth control, because HSUS made some deal with somebody about something for who knows what in return.

Good idea. Kill the ones you got already. Then make sure they don’t make any more wild horses, so if there are any left, they eventually die off “naturally.” No mercy required. >> CBS 4 Denver, >> Slideshow.
