Visitors went to the Broken Arrow facility as they do every Sunday. Observers have been traveling to the remote privately contracted facility to document the conditions our wild horses are held in after being rounded-up by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) this past winter.
Dean Bolstad of the BLM led the tour. Bolstad informed the visitors that there had been over 300 births at the facility and the daily number of births had slowed.
As the tour was ending observers came across a severely emaciated foal. The mare was present and protective but appeared to have no bag. They notified Bolstad who said he would contact the vet immediately after the tour.
The foal was euthanized Sunday after observers vacated the facility.
This is so unacceptable so have this happen to these wonderful creatures that live wild. Wherever you people are that can stop this insanity on the great lands that God gave us, please protest repeatedly or vote these people out of office quickly. The BLM is a bunch of self agrandizing solution solvers! Ha……..They seem to be so very wrong on most everything they touch.
Why are these horses penned up ? Why not free ? The U.S. has enough land to allow them to run free and live as God had intended !
Agreed, vote them (the representatives and senators) all out . ! We need fresh thinking and caring people, not worried about getting re-elected people, running our country !
George Knapp from Coast to Coast AM broadcast this page to the nation tonight. I’m grateful for him doing so. These poor horses aren’t bothering anyone or anything and they should be left to roam free. Not all horses are meant to be domesticated!!
This is proof that the powers that be are truly insane! They are destroying animals and humans left and right-not because it needs to be done but because they CAN! This is evil at its purest form! The fact is NONE of us know which species could become not only useful-but necessary-in our future! These idiots believe that they can do a better job of creating than God! I sure hope he gives them more than a little tap on the head to prove what arrogant idiots they actually are!
It breaks my heart to see animals “cared for” in such a terrible manner. There is no excuse !
Why didn’t they just give this foal milk replacement from a igloo. Instead of killing it?????
I am so upset, I have no words. It makes me want to cry. How could this happen? This is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen!
i sure hope somebody’s going to jail over this!!! cuz you know if one of us did this we would be going away for awhile!! and just giving milk to any animal this far gone would never be a wise thing they did the right thing
My husband was the Senior Environment Analyst for BLM for 17 years. He tells me that this is completely unnecessary and is due, mostly, to cattle ranchers who do not want horses grazing on land that cattle will use. INSANE and CRUEL!
