Jeremy Ryan Richardson, 17, admitted the early-January attack on a mare named Misty at her home on Bankstown Road, in Fayette County, Georgia.
The attack left the eight-year-old with terrible injuries, having been struck with four arrows.
The severity of the attack meant Richardson was charged as an adult with felony aggravated cruelty to an animal.
Nancy and Ralph Padovano, who own Misty, were present in court on Thursday when Richardson admitted the attack as part of a plea arrangement.
Ralph Padovano told Horsetalk today that Richardson must serve 30 days in one stretch and the remaining 30 days over 15 weekends.
Richardson also received five years of probation and must do 300 hours of community service at an animal refuge. Read full story >>
