Equestrian News Release
The human participants of Equine Angels Rescue Sanctuary could not sit idly by while these magnificent horses were killed. If it was just a matter of those lives saved, that would be enough, but fortunately, we have come to know the greater potential of these angelic equines. Each of the horses…has touched and uplifted several human lives along the rescue path.
Equine Angels is a celebration of the journey of horses and foals saved from slaughter. Accompanied by more than 130 stunning full-color photographs, it tells the surprising and moving stories of how these foals have changed the lives of the human families who adopt them–for the rescuers are often the ones redeemed when opening their hearts to an unwanted foal.
The foals’ story begins with their majestic mares on the vast plains of Canada. The mares are kept pregnant because their urine will contain estrogen, a vital ingredient for the hormone replacement therapy drug Premarin®. The Pregnant Mares’ Urine, PMU, is often collected in harsh conditions from the mares, and when the foal is born it is frequently considered an innocent but disposable by-product of the process. What happens next to the foals, who might otherwise go to slaughter, is the heartwarming subject of this book. What happens to people along that rescue path, is the magical soul of this book.
The photographs and stories feature ruggedly beautiful horses in their natural splendor that transform from once-wild creatures into loving and intelligent companions for their human families. Included are stories of successes great and small: foals growing up to be national competitors, therapy helpers, and members of families that are healed by the love of a horse.
Uplifting and featuring gorgeous photography, Equine Angels will inspire, and delight as it teaches life lessons. Enjoy the rescue journey and see how “rescues rescue us.”
A portion of the profits from this book will go to fulfill the mission of Equine Angels Rescue Sanctuary. Learn more at http://www.foalrescue.com.

[We received an advance copy of Frank’s book, Equine Angels, and it is beautifully done. The stories are heartwarming; the photography exquisite. It is never preachy, and always uplifting. An amazing gift for that extra special person on your list. And it has the added benefit of helping save more foals. It doesn’t get much better than that.
