Celebrate George Knapp’s Murrow Award in Las Vegas

Possibly no one in Nevada deserves more kuddos for turning the public eye on the plight of the wild horses and burros than George Knapp and his team of Matt Adams and Ian Russell.

They have just been awarded the Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for their stunning documentary, Stampede to Oblivion. Their region includes California, Hawaii and Nevada and it is now on to the national competition for the top industry award. We wish them the top prize.

Their fine work will be acknowledged next week at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas. We local horse advocates want to thank George and his team for their fine work for the horses and at the same time, send our message to over 40,000 national media delegates attending this huge convention. So we invite you to come hold our gorgeous banners & posters:

(or if you can’t show up until 5-ish or you have to leave early, it is OK, just come for whatever length of time you can!)

WHERE: SOUTHWEST corner of Convention Center Dr and 3150 Paradise Rd
(across from the main entrance-exit from Convention Center).

NOTE: Parking is easier at the Hilton Hotel and then walk south on Paradise road

We will provide the banners and signs and laughter. You bring your friends and family if you can. This is a happy rally!

To re-inforce what we are fighting for, have a look at yesterday’s photos of the wild horses of Cold Creek, near Las Vegas. The first spring foal was there to greet us – we must make sure she will never face another cruel roundup!

  1. Thank God there are still honest great investigative journalists like George Knapp. Unfortunatly they are hard to find. Las Vegas is lucky to have the I-TEAM , and so are we that he is couragous enough not to follow the pack and do the same 2 stories that no one cares about over and over. Instead he has reported on the plight of Americas Majestic Wild Horses and the truth about the lying corrupt agencies such as the BLM, USDA and U.S. FOREST SERVICE that murder our beautiful Wild horses and burros to replace them with MILLIONS of private welfare cattle on our public lands. These private welfare cattle destroy our public lands, plants, wildlife and water and cost taxpayers up to 1 Billion dollars per year.
