Top 10 exporters and importers of horse meat worldwide

MARCH AGAINST HORSE SLAUGHTER — The top 10 horse meat exporting countries in the world are responsible for about 85% of the world’s total as shown in Table 4 and the accompanying bar chart.

This represents 115,958 tonnes or roughly 256 million pounds. Of the horse meat produced around the globe this about 16% of the total indicating that the greater majority of horse meat produced is consumed within the country of origin.

The top 10 horse meat importing countries in the world are responsible for about 92% of the world’s total as shown in Table 5 and the accompanying bar chart.

This is equivalent to 115,958 tonnes or roughly 246 million pounds.

Of the horse meat produced around the globe this about 16% of the total indicating that the greater majority of horse meat produced is consumed within the country of origin.
