It’s sweet to be a sweet vegan

Here are some delightful ways to satisfy that craving for something sweet. Let’s start with a drinks shall we to get us in the mood for baking. And not just any drink. It’s all the rage right now — veganized!

Vegan Dalgona Coffee (TikTok)

To make the TikTok whipped coffee (aka dalgona coffee) vegan, all you need is instant coffee, vegan friendly sugar (we use Sugar in the Raw; use your favourite), and plant-based milk! Oat milk is vegan milk of choice at the moment even though they all work wonderfully.

Ingredients

  • Instant coffee (both regular and decaf work) *do not use regular coffee grinds*
  • Granulated vegan friendly sugar
  • Hot water
  • Unsweetened soy or oat milk
  • Ice cubes

Making It

Add the instant coffee, sugar and water to a bowl and whisk vigorously (or use a hand blender if you have one to make it a much easier process) until the mixture becomes superthick. It it should hold a similar consistency to whipped cream with somewhat stiff peaks, and a lovely golden-brown color.

Pour milk into a tall glass filled with ice cubes, then scoop the pillowy mixture on top of the cold milk. You can also mix the two parts together.
