WHAT’S AT STAKE
There is so much at stake for America’s wild horses and burros, we cannot make too many calls, or send too many faxes or emails.
Many herd management areas are empty of wild horses and burros due to the BLM’s destructive practices. We will never know for certain how many wild horses and burros remain in the wild due to the BLM’s unscrupulous accounting practices. It is like only a few thousand, when there used to be millions.
One thing is for certain. There are more wild horses languishing in federal long-term holding facilities than out on the open range. And now the BLM is appointing pro horse slaughter individuals to the advisory board so they can sell these horses to the slaughterers.
