Glimmer is Gen’s Ice Glimmer.
Glimmer is a Tennessee Walking Horse, whose scarring on his legs, and the nails in his stacked shoes, show that he was tortured and abused to make him snatch up his front legs to accentuate his already natural and beautiful high stepping gait.
The accentuated gait he was tortured and abused to achieve is called the Big Lick. The Big Lick is unnatural, awkward and ugly. And brought about by horrific suffering.
Glimmer ended up at auction on July 19, most likely ending up in a slaughterhouse. It’s a common destiny for horses that can no longer pass inspection because of scars left by their trainers.
Blessedly, Glimmer was rescued and is now going through the process of being rehabilitated. Hopefully he will have a life of peace and contentment, free at last.
He has now been examined by veterinary staff and will undergo a series of treatments that will get Glimmer healthy, pain free and back into shape.

Glimmer is now ready for the platforms (stacked shoes) to be taken down, weighed and loaned to Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL) as evidence to be used for asking Congress to pass the PAST ACT (take action here).
Glimmer especially wants U. S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) to know he’s a “Kentucky Horse”, and that he was tortured there.
Glimmer also wants U. S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) to know that until he changes course, Senator Alexander will forever be remembered as championing a tradition of Big Lick Animal Cruelty.

People need to stop attending Big Lick shows. That would dry up advertising and commercial interests that support the events. That would eventually lead to the end of Big Lick.

The atrocities committed against TWH’s in the name of the “Big Lick” continue to sicken me. We call ourselves a civilized nation but this cruelty is anything but civilized. However, it is easy to correct. The judges need to STOP pinning these abused horses. Therefore, I hold the judges responsible just as I do the abusers. Please stop this insanity if you truly love these animals.
